About Us — Redistrict Colorado

About Us

We’re a group of Colorado residents who believe fair representation is not just a principle — it’s a necessity. We keep our names out of the spotlight, because the work we’re doing isn’t about us. It’s about protecting Colorado’s voice on the national stage.

This effort began organically on Reddit, where concerned citizens came together to discuss how Colorado could respond to the extreme gerrymandering happening in other states. What started as a conversation among strangers quickly evolved into a coordinated push for real legislative change — and the Defensive Gerrymander Guard Act was born.

For too long, politics has been a game where one side plays by the rules while the other side rewrites them. We’ve seen how partisan gerrymandering in other states can silence voters and tip the balance of power in Congress. When Colorado’s representation is threatened, we refuse to stand by quietly.

Our Philosophy

We reject the outdated idea of “When they go low, we go high.” That mindset leaves us unprepared for the tactics being used against fair representation nationwide. Our stance is clear: We don’t bring a pencil to a knife fight.

This means we advocate for tools that match the scale and urgency of the threat. When other states undermine democracy through aggressive gerrymanders, Colorado has the right — and the responsibility — to respond in kind to protect its interests.

Our Work

We’re pushing for the Defensive Gerrymander Guard Act — a constitutional amendment giving Colorado the emergency redistricting authority it needs when national fairness is under attack. This is not about starting fights; it’s about making sure we can finish them when they come to our doorstep.

We believe in proactive, unapologetic action. We believe in defending Colorado’s voters. And we believe that fair representation is worth fighting for — with equal force.
